Encode text or any file to Base64, or decode Base64 back to readable text or the original file.

Base64 turns binary data into plain text so it can travel safely through systems built for text — e-mail, JSON, HTML, CSS and URLs. Developers use it for data URIs, API payloads and basic authentication headers.
The RIZONI TOOLS Base64 tool is UTF-8 safe, supports URL-safe Base64 and data URIs, and runs entirely in your browser.

Why use Base64 Encoder & Decoder?
Embed small images directly in HTML or CSS.
Inspect and debug Base64 values from APIs and tokens.
Convert files for JSON or XML payloads.
Safe for sensitive data because nothing is uploaded.
Base64 is encoding, not encryption
Anyone can decode Base64, so it provides no security. Never use it to hide passwords or confidential information. Its purpose is to represent binary data safely as text.
Base64 output is about 33% larger than the original data, so it's best suited to small files such as icons.
Standard vs. URL-safe Base64
Standard Base64 uses the characters + and / and pads the end with =. These characters have special meanings in URLs, so URL-safe Base64 (Base64URL) replaces them with - and _ and usually drops the padding. JSON Web Tokens (JWT) use Base64URL. The decoder accepts both forms.
Privacy and security
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers. When you close the page, the data is gone.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support non-English characters?
Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, so Arabic, accented letters and emoji are encoded and decoded correctly.
Can I decode an image from Base64?
Yes. Paste the Base64 or data URI, click Decode and use Download decoded file. Data URIs keep the correct file type.
Is Base64 secure?
No. It's an encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it.
Why did decoding fail?
The input may contain invalid characters or be incomplete. Check that you copied the whole string.
